School History
Sheroan’s Tae Kwon Do Academy was founded and
is owned by Grandmaster Bobby Sheroan.
Grandmaster Sheroan has the oldest and largest school in Elizabethtown, KY, with
over 35 years of nonstop
progression and instructing Tae Kwon Do. Many of his original students are still
with him after 30 years of study.
Grandmaster Robert Sheroan began his study in the martial
arts in 1970, in the discipline of Tae Kwon Do
He started his own school 1975, in Elizabethtown, KY, teaching Tae Kwon Do. In
1979 he began
cross training under the direction of John Suarez in Wado Ryu Karate, obtaining
his black belt. He trained under
Grandmaster Kwan Sung Lee to the level of 6th Dan. He also obtained black belts in Uechi Ryu Karate-Do,
Jiu Jitsu,
HoSinSool, Yusool, Yudo. and Kenwayoshin Ryu.
Grandmaster Sheroan has achieved the rank of 9th Degree
Grandmaster from Martial Arts USA and registered
in Korea with the SimMuDo Association. Also ranked with United States Tae Kwon Do Won (USTW),
The World Tae Kwon Do Federation (WTF), and the International Martial Arts
Federation (IMF).
Grandmaster Sheroan is president of Kentucky Tae Kwon Do Won, and serves as a Director with the USTW.
He has been selected
by the American Martial Arts Renmei Executive Board of Directors as its 2006
inductee into the
AMAR's Hall of Fame. He is also the 2006 recipient of AMAR's coveted Life Time
Achievement Award,
an award that only comes once in a life time, and is only presented to those
Martial Artist that are truly the
Best of the Best Master's, and are without a doubt the "Genuine Article”.
